 July 28th, 2010: A little bit of what's new for our members. 
BuddiesSimilar in some ways to that giant social face site where you can connect with friends and see what they've been up to. It's a little better than that other sites because you can group mail, group invite, but aren't restricted to just talking with friends. 
LinksLink to your favorite sites. We know there are other enthusiast sites you go to. It's okay. Feel free to list them. Link to your favorite garage or vendor. Link to the manufacturer of the coolest mods you own or wish that you owned. Once we get enough people using this, we'll build link directories. Links from just your buddies' recommendations or from everyone here. 
AchievementsThese are trophies given out for certain activities. Are you a picture enthusiast who loves to rate photos? You'll win an award for your interest. Whether you have been here for more than 5 years or just a few months, there is an achievement that shows that off. We'll be adding achievements all the time. They'll be a few hidden ones that can only be won through chance or hard work. 
ForumsThe forums have been completely rewritten. Your ease of operation was foremost in our mind. A mini-profile has been added to the left of the post. This mini-profile allows you to quickly see who the person posting is, what their interests are, and which groups they belong to. 
ProfilesThis is everything about a member. It's also your personal control panel. You can also add a quote that sits under your forum posts. You can add a biography or just a few lines in "about me". You can add your links, your mods, and access the public view of your gallery. This is where you can see your friends and quickly send messages directly to them. 
GalleriesIn galleries, you can see which of the photos was voted best. You can see individual person's gallery and which phtoto was voted highest. You can see which photo was most viewed. By using "genres", you can filter out what you don't want to see. You can even find photos in other people's galleries and add them to your own favorites photo album. 
WorldsThis is a new way to think about combing pictures with information. Members can make "photo-essays" that can be "how-to's", a build or restoration in progress, or simply use worlds to make a special view that crosses several albums in their gallery. Members could have separate albums for each show they've been to and then one world which combines all of the pics of his/her ride. Stay tuned.... more to come. |
